Could possibly work. No idea what would be involved, though.

As someone who uses it every day, the anti cheat has never done anything suspicious. Almost every game uses the same brand. It just keeps ppl from installing cheating and avatar ripping software into the game. It is harmless. I believe there is a version of the game for Linux as well

It does sound like it works pretty well on Linux even though I don't think it's officially supported (there's something called Proton that can sometimes allow Linux users to play Windows-based games, but it's hit or miss on whether it works), though it might have a few minor bugs. And that's assuming it still runs now that they've implemented the anti-cheat software.

But mostly, it's always hard to tell if a company is secretly spying on you when it comes to proprietary software, and I'm pretty sure the particular software they're using allows them some extremely deep, kernel-level access into your device (which would also apparently have to be removed manually somehow if you ever decide to uninstall the game). Even if it wasn't spying, the software itself is apparently a security risk, from what I've been reading.

But I'm also the paranoid type in general, so that may be more of a "me" problem. :P
